A team of culinary hopefuls took part recently in this year's 'Young Chef' inter-school competition
Taking part in this year's inter-school 'Young Chef' competition, were culinary hopefuls, Meggie, Ellie, Alex, Donovan, Ahmad, Chloe and Mica. The competion is co-ordinated by West Berkshire Education Business Partnership and supported this year by Sheepdrove Organic Farm, in Lambourn. Judges for the afternoon were Darren Booker-Wilson, from Monty's restaurant in Newbury and Debbie Hearn, food writer for the Newbury Weekly News.
Key Stage 3 winners were Ellie and Meggie, who were praised for the technical skills shown in their dishes. Key Stage 4 winners were Mica and Chloe (pictured) were commended for the excellent flavours in their final menu. We wish them all luck in the next round of the competition.
